Twisted Minds Arc
Drogmara. One of the largest cities in the world and an ancient hub of trade. It is the capital of Glindreng and the ancestral home of the Ulfsdain family, the long-ruling family of Glindreng and the former Kormerian Empire. With Xoria’s clan freed from their imprisonment and are safely living within the capital, and the Grotfel family’s attacks seemingly repelled, Midnight Brunch finally had a chance to breath and pursue other goals.
Foremost on their mind was seeing if an ancient deed they have is worth anything. Found in the depths of the Pirate Lord Ira’s tomb, the deed proved to be valuable, granting them rights to land in a prime location on the mountainside, dilapidated mansion included. Although it took time to prove the legitimacy of their claim, the party eventually gained control of the plot and began renovations.
Of course, they explored the food and shopping opportunities in Drogmara, some of which delighted, and some simply confused them. Xoria purchased supplies for her beloved Sevens, her pet baby bulette. Nines arranged for a potentially profitable arrangement with the Nines-aphone. Hlwynn learned a bit more about the food-focused nature of their new traveling companions. Finally, ulseth pursued learning even deeper knowledge of the Furven technology that fascinates him.
It wasn’t all that long, though, until they stumbled their way into a new mystery and, consequently, a new job. Being mercenaries, Midnight Brunch is always looking for work, and rumors of a cult in the sewers offered up the perfect job. After hearing some rumblings of missing people, they found a bartender who wanted to hire them to look into just that. Fodari Pilm, who’s friend Tamoy Ognar went missing, wanted to hire Midnight Brunch to help find him. Working together, they found that the cult was real and was a threat to the city. But the danger stopped being just a job and turned into a personal quest. One of their friends, a druid named Muriel, had gone missing in the sewers beneath the city. Although Xoria is no fan of Muriel’s druid circle, the Agmar’nodal, they all felt compelled to go in search of their friend.
Once they tracked the cult to the sewers, the group found the members deep underground and ready to wreak havoc on the city above. Fortunately, Muriel and Tamoy were found alive and, to the group’s surprise, the heir apparent to the Glindregan throne, Nular Ulfsdain, was with them. He too had been kidnapped and had befriended Muriel. Midnight Brunch helped them all escape the clutches of the cult, but the problem of these fanatics still remained. So, the members of the party, went forward until they found the cult’s headquarters. There they learned more of their demented vision, of their minds twisted by powers unknown, of their terrible goals for the world. Although their sanity was lost, their abilities were unquestionable. The cult summoned a powerful creature to kill Midnight Brunch, but Xoria, ulseth, Nines, and Hlwynn emerged victorious and escaped the sewers just as it was collapsing around them.
