The Lost Island Arc

In the time that follows escaping The Voice, the Captain takes his ship to an uninhabited island to restock on water and other supplies. During this time, the group explores the island with the Captain, including seeing some old ruins that he’s checked out before. What they find are massive, solid white stone walls, but also, they are not alone on the island. The group finds dark-clad soldiers with captive changelings outside the ruin’s main gates. After a quick ambush, the leader escapes into the city. The party discovers that these soldiers are serving Brukelion, heir apparent to the Ulfdain-Grotfells, one of the Kormer Republic’s “Dragon Families” and that he is after something within the city.

Xoria gets them inside and they begin the explore the city and stop Brukelion before he reaches his goal. They discover the city is an-Risto, created by an ancient changeling of myth, Jorela. He made the city after the fall of an-Rissa, the first home of the changelings after they came to this plane. The group follows an ancient path, set out by the makers of the city in the event of an emergency, all while racing against Brukelion forcing his way towards his goal, the heart of the city’s power.

After many confounding and dangerous puzzles, the group faces their last step, meeting Jorela himself, displaced through time so they can complete an Orat-Mal, a changeling “Home Stone”, that will give them access to the heart of the city. It is there that they can confront Brukelion. After a large battle within the shifting stone walls of an-Risto, the party triumphs and defeats Brukelion, freeing the captured changelings, and saving the legacy of the changelings from being stolen for greed and power. Leaving the island, and putting several days out at sea, two ships are spotted pursuing them, with the flags of the Ulfdain-Grotfell family. They open fire on the ship and the party is tossed into the sea, unconscious.
